    Septastrea matsoni 3 ¾” or 96.86mm. Vaughan, 1919-Extinct Superb EX-Large Collected in the Pinecrest Member (Petuch Unit 7) of the Tamiami Formation in 2020. Aggregates Pit, Hillsborough County, Florida. Piacenzian Pliocene 3.0-3.6 M.Y.A. Collector P#2 -Collector and true locality will be divulged in the final data of this fossil coral. Very large piece growing on what appears to be a gastropod strombus. This is often called marylandica incorrectly as marylandica according to Dr. Ed Petuch is Choptank Formation and Miocene in age at 15 million years old. This is an exquisite matsoni piece rarely so large.
