A Fine/F+ Macrocypraea cervus 3 5/8” or 91.05mm. Linne, 1758-“Lovely Pattern” Collected by scuba diver at 10-15’ deep in crevices under rocks in the 1980’s.Big Pine Key, Florida. A lovely specimen but there are sand grains trapped under the dorsum and sand blister on the side of the cowrie. Atypical of a shallow water specimen probably attacked during growth on local patch reefs.

These are hard to get now in the orange color. Some workers are calling this florifer. However, the difference in the fronds can be seen clearly show this species to be different from florifer.
